Product Review: Struck Apparel breeches 07/12/2017 Ok, I admit it. I'm a breeches snob. I have a closet full of Pikeur, with a smattering of Cavallo, Ariat, Goode Rider, TS and Eurostar for good measure. I also admit to owning a couple of pairs of Elation breeches from Greenhawk that I use as everyday working breeches that I don't mind getting dirty or covered in hay. But for the most part I pray to the gods of Pikeur. However, I also like supporting Canadian companies, so I thought I'd give Struck Apparel a chance. I'm so glad I did! I

The Slow March of Progress 07/12/2017 Like many dressage riders, one of my dreams has always been to don the shadbelly and top hat and ride at the FEI level. The books will tell you that the best way to learn to ride dressage is to ride a schoolmaster. Alas most people do not have the money to purchase a schoolmaster of their own or and do not have trainers with access to schoolmasters. So for many dressage riders, achieving their FEI goals involves training an inexperienced or young horse, with or without the help of a trainer.

Who Says Dressage Horses Can't Have Fun? 07/12/2017 People who know me, know that I'm not your usual dressage rider. I turn my horses out in groups, leave them outside 24/7 when the weather is nice and trail ride regularly. Part of my approach to training dressage horses, is to keep the training interesting and fun by having variety in my horse's work. With this in mind, I started taking some low key jumping lessons on my top horse Forte about 18 months ago. Now, I am generally a very brave rider, but due to some negative experiences earlier
